Event Description:
Thank you for your inquiry to the Greater Akron Chamber’s 106th Annual Meeting at the John S. Knight Convention center on Tuesday, March 19th. Our R.S.V.P. online access is no longer available after 4:00pm on March 12th; at this time, please call (330) 376-5550 to speak with a Chamber associate to reserve seats and arrange payment information.

This important, once-a-year event is designed to celebrate your Chamber membership and to introduce your staff, associates and preferred customers to the exciting accomplishments of your Chamber. The annual meeting is open to all employees of any member's company. Future members who are interested in learning more about the Chamber are also welcome.


THE H. PETER BURG AWARD

This year, the Honorable Mayor Don Plusquellic of the City of Akron will be the recipient of the prestigious H. Peter Burg Award. This award was created as a way to recognize a business leader who has served as a role model and who has enhanced local and regional economic and community development.

2013 OFFICERS & BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS

The Greater Akron Chamber Board of Directors is recommending a By-Laws revision and nominees to serve on the Greater Akron Chamber Board. These recommendations will be voted on by the membership at the Greater Akron Chamber's 106th Annual Meeting on March 19, 2013. *Revised Code of Regulations

The redline version of the Code of Regulations proposes the following changes:

• Article II, Section 2.01, letter (d): To work with other organizations who are dedicated to improving the economic and social well-being of our community. Further, the corporation may enter into an agreement with these organizations to provide staff for their operation. This change was made since the named organization no longer exists.
• Article VII, Section 7.03 The Chairman, Chairman-Elect and Immediate Past Chairman shall serve terms not to exceed two (2) years. All Vice Chairmen shall serve until their successors have been elected. This change will allow Vice Chairs to serve additional three-year terms.
